Roskomnadzor demands that the media remove materials based on Navalny’s investigations

Roskomnadzor appealed to the publications Znak.com, Forbes, RTVI, Republic and Mediazona with a demand to remove materials created on the basis of investigations of politician Alexei Navalny. Novaya Gazeta reports this.

The department demands the removal of publications that talk about “Putin’s palace” near Gelendzhik, the families of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, real estate allegedly owned by the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova and ex-deputy chairman of Gazprom Valery Golubev, the Innopraktika fund headed by the alleged daughter of Vladimir Putin Katerina Tikhonova, the “secret estate” of ex-Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and possible persons involved in the investigation against journalist Ivan Golunov.

This is not the first time that the department has demanded the removal of publications made on the basis of materials from the Anti-Corruption Foundation and Alexei Navalny. In January, Roskomnadzor demanded that several independent media outlets remove materials mentioning FBK investigations. Among the publications that demanded to be removed were materials about “Putin’s palace”, the investigation “He’s not Dimon to you”, dedicated to property allegedly belonging to former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, real estate allegedly belonging to the head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, dachas allegedly belonging to the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, a penthouse registered to the namesake of the wife of deputy Leonid Slutsky.

• On June 9, 2021, the Moscow City Court recognized the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), the Foundation for the Protection of Citizens' Rights (FZPG) and the headquarters of Alexei Navalny as extremist organizations. An appeals court later upheld this decision.
