The court again extended the arrest of Rosderzhava journalists

The Moscow Regional Court extended the term of detention for Rosderzhava journalists Alexander Dorogov and Yan Katelevsky. This was reported in the telegram channel "Katelevskiy and Dorogov Info".

The defendants will stay in jail until at least May 21.

Rossderzhava journalists Yan Katelevsky and Alexander Dorogov are accused of extortion (clause “b” part 3 of article 163 of the Criminal Code) and insulting an official (article 319 of the Criminal Code) - the investigation believes that they extorted 1.3 million rubles from an employee DPS for refusing to publish materials about him. Katelevsky is also accused in the case of damage to property out of hooligan motives (part 2 of article 167 of the Criminal Code).

• Journalists consider the criminal cases against them ordered and fabricated. They believe that the persecution started because of their professional activities and investigations.
• Dorogov and Katelevsky were restricted from familiarizing themselves with the case materials. According to the court decision, Dorogov must study eight volumes and 2,400 sheets in 10 working days. Katelevsky was given the same period to familiarize himself with 2,000 pages of a criminal case in a pre-trial detention center.
