At the exercises in Russia, under the leadership of Putin, ballistic and cruise missiles were launched

On February 19, the Armed Forces of Russia were conducted under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the teachings of strategic deterrence forces. He watched the exercises from the situational center in the Kremlin with Alexander Lukashenko.

The press service of the President of the Russian Federation reported that the exercises were attended by aerial-space forces (VKS), the Southern Military District, Strategic Missile Forces, the Northern Fleet and the Black Sea Fleet.

During the exercises, the military launched various types of missiles:

• The VKS launched the hypersonic aeroballistic missiles "Dagger";
• The ships and submarines of the Northern and Black Sea Fleets launched Caliber winged missiles and the Zircon hypersonic missile on targets at sea and on land;
• At the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region, they launched the terrestrial base of the Iskander’s ground -based cruise;
• From the Plesetsk cosmodrome, they launched the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile along the Kura training ground in Kamchatka;
• Strategic missile carriers of the Tu-95MS released air-based cruise missiles for targets at the Pemba and Kura landfill;
• From the water area of ​​the Barents Sea, from the atomic underwater cruiser Karelia, they launched the Sineva ballistic missile along the Kura training ground.

The Kremlin reported that the tasks of the exercises were fully fulfilled: "All missiles struck the assigned goals, confirming the specified characteristics."

• Teachings with launches of ballistic and cruise missiles have passed simultaneously with large -scale maneuvers that the Russian Ministry of Defense has been spending for several weeks in different parts of the country and with the participation of almost all military districts and fleets. The joint Russian-Belarusian exercises “Union determination-2022” also continue.
• In the fall of 2021, Russia has been building up troops near borders with Ukraine. According to the United States, 150 thousand Russian military are concentrated among borders. Western countries admit that Russia can start an invasion of Ukraine in the coming days, official Moscow denies this. Against the backdrop of an exacerbation around Ukraine from the self -proclaimed republics of Donbass, they began to evacuate women and children to the Rostov region of Russia. A general mobilization is announced in the DPR and LPR.
