Putin recognized the independence of "DPR" and "LPR"

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on the recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR). The broadcast was conducted by the Russia 24 TV channel.

He also signed agreements on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the heads of the DPR and LPR Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik.

On the evening of February 18, the authorities of the “DPR” and “LPR”, fearing the offensive operation of Ukraine, began the evacuation of residents to Russia. Kyiv rejected any speculation of a possible attack.
