The Kudymkar City Court upheld the decision of the justice of the peace to compensate 70-year-old Leonid Ladanov 117 thousand rubles for the fine he paid. This is reported by the telegram channel “ReportVerdict”.
The court also denied the Ministry of Finance the satisfaction of the appeal. The department pointed out that the court awarded compensation in excess of the amount of the fine: Ladanov paid 100 thousand rubles in the case of fictitious registration of foreign citizens (Article 322.2 of the Criminal Code), and the court assessed the property damage caused to him at 116 thousand 731 rubles, taking into account inflation. The Ministry of Finance emphasized that it is guided by the interests of the country's citizens, whose taxes form the treasury of the Russian Federation.
In November 2020, the 7th Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction overturned Ladanov's sentence. The case was dismissed due to insignificance and due to the absence of corpus delicti in the act. In addition, the court recognized the pensioner's right to rehabilitation.
Earlier, Magistrate Lyudmila Mokrushina found Leonid Ladanov guilty of participating in the Memorial expedition to the cemetery of the repressed and imposed a fine of 100,000 rubles. The defense appealed the verdict, but the Kudymkar City Court upheld it.
September 19 At the end of February, Leonid Ladanov was also awarded 200,000 rubles as compensation for non-pecuniary damage. Human rights activists from the "Public Verdict" reported that in September the pensioner was paid the entire amount of compensation, which amounted to almost 317 thousand rubles.
