Roskomnadzor drew up a report to the radio station "Echo of Moscow" because of the program in Ukrainian "What do they have there." This is reported by Mediazona, the photo of the protocol is at the disposal of the editors.
The program has been published weekly for over five years. The journalists were charged with an article on violation of the rules for the manufacture or distribution of media products (part 1 of article 13.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Officials said that "the dissemination of information is carried out in Ukrainian, which is not indicated in the certificate of registration."
Russian legislation allows broadcasting, in addition to the Russian language, in the state languages of the republics, as well as in other languages of the peoples living on their territories. Ukrainians are the third largest people living in Russia.
“We will challenge it in court – this is a program about the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian culture,” commented Oleksiy Venediktov, editor-in-chief of the radio station.
The reason for drawing up the protocol was the denunciation of a certain D. S. Shepelsky. Mediazona suggested that this was the head of the Samara branch of the pro-government National Liberation Movement (NOD).
