Peskov expressed the position of the Russian Federation on a military operation in Ukraine

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov spoke about the goals and timing of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. The president will determine the deadlines, depending on "effectiveness and consideration." It is reported by RBC with reference to a briefing with Peskov.

The purpose of the operation, as the presidential spokesman said, is the "demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine." Peskov added that "ideally, it is necessary to free Ukraine and clean it from pronounced people." He also pointed out the need to “neutralize the military potential” of Ukraine, which has recently “pretty much grew”.

Peskov did not answer questions about how far Russian troops can go, whether the operation outside the LPR and the DPR will be performed and whether Belarus participates in it. Putin’s spokesman emphasized that no one says about the occupation of Ukraine.
