Mindaugas Karbauskis leaves Mayakovsky Theater

Today, February 25, director Mindaugas Karbauskis announced the departure from the post of artistic director of the Moscow Academic Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky.

“I'm leaving too!”, - wrote Mindaugas Karbauskis on his Facebook. Earlier today, another Lithuanian director, Rimas Tuminas, reported on leaving the post of artistic director of the State Academic Theater named after Evgeny Vakhtangov in Moscow.

Mindaugas Karbauskis was appointed artistic director of the theater named after Vl. Mayakovsky in 2011.

The director staged on the stage of this theater the performances “Talents and Fans”, “Mr. Puntila and his servant Matty”, “Fruits of Enlightenment”, “Kant”, “Russian Roman”, “Exile / My friend Freddy Mercury”, “Yoknapatof”, “Family Album”, “School of Wives”.

In the spring of 2022, the premiere of the performance of Karbauskis “Gentlemen Golovlev” was planned according to the novel Saltykov-Shchedrin.
