© RoskomnadzorToday, February 25, Roskomnadzor began a partial restriction of access to the social network Facebook.
These measures, said in a message on the website of Roskomnadzor , are introduced in response to the actions of Soschceti Facebook , which on February 24 “limited the official accounts of the four Russian media: the Zvezda TV channel, the RIA Novosti news agency, the online platforms“ Lenta.ru ”and“ Gazeta.ru ””.
Facebook actions, explains Roskomnadzor, violate the law "On measures of influence on persons involved in violations of the fundamental rights and freedoms of a person, rights and freedoms of citizens of the Russian Federation."
Therefore, on the same day, Roskomnadzor demanded from Meta Platforms, Inc. who belongs to Facebook , to cancel the organizing regarding the accounts of the Russian media and explain the reason why they were introduced.
Roskomnadzor did not receive a response to his request, the report said, and “on February 25, the Prosecutor General’s Office, in agreement with the Foreign Ministry, decided to recognize the social network Facebook involved in the violation of the fundamental rights and freedoms of a person, as well as the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens”.
