The European Union forbade Russia to use European aircraft

The European Union adopted strict sanctions against the Russian aviation industry. Russian companies will not be able to use European aircraft. New deliveries, as well as maintenance and insurance of all vehicles are prohibited, and the aircraft already handed over to the old contracts must be returned to the lessor within a month. If the United States supports these sanctions, Russia may lose half of the air park. The publication refers to the results of the meeting with the Prime Minister of Ireland Mikhol Martin. The jurisdiction of this country has registered most of the European aircraft park.

The sanctions provide for a ban on sales, deliveries, transfer or export, directly or indirectly, all types of aircraft, helicopters, space technologies, as well as components to them. It is forbidden to conclude new leasing contracts, the old ones should be terminated. These measures can reduce the Russian air park twice as a month.

At the same time, some companies may lose all aircraft. Now it threatens the Ural Airlines, which has all 54 aircraft - Airbus.

According to the publication, an emergency meeting is planned in the Ministry of Transport. Experts believe that the authorities may allow airlines to leave planes at home. Then, in the future, even with the normalization of relations, not a single lessor will give these airlines his aircraft.
