A report was drawn up against the leader of the Kalmyk branch of Yabloko under the article of disrespect for authority

The chairman of the Kalmyk branch of the Yabloko party, Batyr Boromangnaev, was charged with a report on disrespect for the authorities (part 4 of article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a post on Facebook. This is reported by the "Caucasian Knot".

The police drew up a protocol because of the publication, where the politician compared the economic policy of Nazi Germany and modern Russia. Law enforcers came to the conclusion that Boromangnaev's statement offends human dignity and demonstrates disrespect for the authorities.

“The officer who drew up the protocol did not show me the post itself. Judging by what he said, I remembered what kind of post it was. But it has been hidden for a long time, there is no access to it. I am sure that this is due to my political position, which I express, including publicly, ”the activist quoted the publication as saying.

• Batyr Boromangnaev is regularly persecuted in Elista. On August 20, 2021, the politician was assigned 20 hours of compulsory work due to participation in the congress of the Oirat-Kalmyk people. The event was held in a private and closed area where casual passers-by from the street could not enter. On December 10, 2021, the Elista City Court found Boromangnaev guilty of insulting the authorities represented by President Vladimir Putin, and sentenced him to a fine of 30,000 rubles. Boromangnaev himself insisted that the phrase "Putin's Russia" is a relative, not a possessive adjective and refers to the period of Putin's rule, but the court considered that the phrase "refers to a specific person - President of the Russian Federation Putin."
