Vladimir Putin instructed to transfer the deterrence forces to a special combat alert regime

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the containment forces to be placed on a special alert regime. Putin announced this at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Nikolai Gerasimov.

He called sanctions against Russia “illegitimate.”

“Senior officials of the leading NATO countries make aggressive statements against our country, therefore I order the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff to transfer the deterrent forces of the Russian army to a special combat duty regime,” the president said.
