Tomsk honored the memory of politician Boris Nemtsov, who was killed seven years ago. Flowers and memorial posters were placed at the Stone of Sorrow on Novo-Cathedral Square.
At the same time, initially more posters were placed at the Stone of Sorrow, including one dedicated to the latest events in Ukraine. However, they were later removed.
Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on the night of February 27-28, 2015 in Moscow. In July 2017, five people were convicted of the murder of Nemtsov for hire as part of an organized group: Zaur Dadaev, the Gubashev brothers, Temirlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev.
The person who ordered the murder and other persons involved have not yet been identified.
