Meta, the company that owns social networks Facebook and Instagram, will restrict access to Russian state media outlets RT and Sputnik across the European Union, Meta Vice President Nick Clegg announced .
RT has already received a notification from Facebook about restricting access to the channel’s pages in Russian, English and Spanish in a number of European countries.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, stated that these media outlets and their subsidiaries would be banned in Europe.
In turn, Twitter began to label tweets with links to Russian state media and reduce the visibility of such content, the social network's administration reported .
