The clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church published an open appeal with a call for reconciliation and immediate cessation of war in Ukraine.
“The Last Judgment expects every person. No earthly power, no doctors, no protection will protect from this court. Caring for the salvation of every person who considers himself a child of the Russian Orthodox Church, we do not want him to appear on this court, carrying the heavy load of maternal curses. We remind you that the blood of Christ, spilled by the Savior, will be accepted in the mystery People who give murderous orders are not in life, but in eternal flour.
The clergy said that they "respect the God -given freedom of man" and believe that the people of Ukraine "must make their choice on their own, not under the aim of machine guns, without pressure from the West or East."
The authors of the appeal also drew attention to mass detentions on anti -war actions in Russia, emphasizing that "no non -violent call to the world and the cessation of war should be forcibly suppressed and considered as a violation of the law."
"We call all the warring parties to the dialogue, because there is no other alternative to violence. Only the ability to hear another can give hope for a way out of the abyss, which our countries were abandoned only in a few days. Let us all enter the great post in the spirit of faith, hope and love. Stop the war." - priests call.
