Apple has stopped deliveries and sales of its equipment in Russia. The American company also intends to limit support for the Apple Pay payment service and other services, Reuters reports, citing a company statement.
“We are deeply concerned about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and support all the people who suffer as a result of violence,” the text says.
It notes that the Russian state media apps RT News and Sputnik News are no longer available for download in the AppStore outside the Russian Federation.
According to " Kommersant ", the prices for the remaining Apple equipment for sale have already increased by almost one and a half times. The Russian office of Apple has not yet commented on the situation.
Apple's share in January in the Russian smartphone market, according to Svyaznoy, was 16.8% in unit terms and 44.6% in money terms. In 2021, according to the retailer, 4.4 million iPhones were sold in the country for 333.6 billion rubles.
