The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the first time voiced the losses of the Russian army in Ukraine. According to the agency, 498 soldiers died, another 1597 - wounded.

Earlier, the representative of the department, Igor Konashenkov, only said that the losses of Ukrainian military "many times" exceed the Russian ones, but did not call specific numbers. More than 2,870 people were killed from the Ukrainian side during the war, the Ministry of Defense said.

At the same time, according to the General Staff of Ukraine, 5840 people were killed or injured in six days of the war, another 200 were captured. It is impossible to confirm this data.
