The editor -in -chief of the Ekho Moscow radio station Alexei Venediktov said that the board of directors decided to liquidate the radio channel and the site of the radio station. He wrote about this in Telegram.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office demanded to block the Rain television channel (recognized by the Russian authorities as a “foreign agent”) and Radio “Echo of Moscow”. Roskomnadzor limited access to the site, from the air "Echo of Moscow" was removed. The radio station in Yandex.Zen was disconnected, its VKontakte public was blocked.

Such a decision was made allegedly due to the “purposeful placement of information with calls for extremist activity and violence, the placement of knowingly false information on the actions of Russian military personnel in the DPR and the LPR.”
