Friends,
In connection with the events of the last week, the State Duma adopted a law that sharply limits the possibilities of journalists.

It is not only about filtering and censoring materials related to Ukraine and the actions of the Russian troops, but also about the direct administrative and criminal prosecution of those media, editors and authors who speak of these events, not coinciding with an official point of view.

All these years - first under the name OpenSpace, then under the name COLTA - our editorial office of the site “On Culture and the Spirit of Time” did not represent them in isolation from each other. To write only about culture, leaving society aside, does not seem possible to us. But the freedom of statement is now reduced to zero. And we consider it honest in such conditions for a while to shut up.

We cannot tell you how long this silence will last. But we hope that it will be as short as possible. And that we will see you on our pages and in our social networks in the near future.

Like many colleagues, we will be forced to make changes to some materials of the last week, and some of them even remove.
