Biden has banned the import of Russian oil and gas into the United States. The UK will abandon Russian oil by the end of 2022

US President Joe Biden announced a ban on the import of Russian oil and gas. It is reported by Sky News.

Biden said in a statement that the decision was made in close cooperation with US allies. According to the president, Washington understands that due to dependence on Russian energy carriers, European countries cannot take similar steps.

Biden also warned American consumers that gasoline prices would continue to rise as a result.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced shortly after Biden's speech that London would stop importing oil and gas from Russia by the end of 2022.
