I agree with Leonid Gozman : Indeed, now "writing with a nail in a car felt that their hour had come." And that power relies on them - on the darkest, poorly educated, aggressive layers of society.

But, firstly, this has not happened now-such a support has been noticeable for a long time.

And secondly, the authorities are now relying not only on those who write with a nail by car, but on much wider layers.

The percentage of such citizens cannot be accurately assessed (the results of all published polls in the current conditions are great doubts), but, of course, it is significant.

"They understand only power!" - A middle -aged buyer assured me in the store, discussing the “special operation”.

And people like her - confident that the situation is exactly as they say on TV - a lot.

Cracks - on the basis of the attitude and assessments of what is happening - now pass not only through professional and other communities, they pass through families.

Something similar in my memory was at least three times. In the fall of 1993, when President Boris Yeltsin dispersed the “reactionary” parliament (certainly, compared with the current State Duma, that parliament was a model of democracy and freedom), in the fall of 1999, when the second Chechen, and in the spring of 2014, when the Crimea was joined.

And each time it was almost impossible to explain anything to many of my friends or at least force them to doubt the official versions: they talked with me phrases from the TV.

But there was no split of such significance as now.

And such a degree of uselessness of attempts to arise the shadow of doubt that it was ordered to be considered the only true one.

Perhaps because the stylistics (and terms) of the Great Patriotic War, in non-Stop mode, broadcast by propaganda channels, in many ways, protecting barriers break through, depriving the ability to critically evaluate what is happening.

Everything is like the brothers Arkady and Boris Strugatsky in the “inhabited island”, only at full power the propaganda ramers are included not twice a day, but constantly.

And just like the Strugatsky - only in “it is difficult to be God” - the principle of “truth is that it is now for the good of the king, and everything else is a lie and crime.”

But no matter how many, as in the play of Eugene Schwartz, “the dragon dislocated his soul, poisoned blood and blurred his vision,” and no matter how hard they try to block the resources independent from the authorities and prohibit everything except from official sources, sooner or later other times will come.

When the radiation of the towers weakens or seriously, the radiation of the towers.

And the split will remain, and possibly for a long time.

And you will have to do the very subtle work that (once again quoting Schwartz) “worse embroidery”.
