In St. Petersburg, the police are asking the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 30 days for Igor Maltsev, a suspect in the case of burning an effigy in camouflage. Now the Vasileostrovsky District Court, at the request of the defense, has extended Maltsev’s detention to 72 hours - to “provide the opportunity to collect additional evidence.” “Apologia” writes about this.

According to the investigation, Maltsev allegedly grossly violated public order and showed obvious disrespect for society “by burning an effigy in military uniform on the ice of the Malaya Neva in the area of ​​Uralskaya Street.” A case was opened against him under the article of hooliganism based on political and ideological hatred (clause b, part 1, article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The next court hearing is scheduled for March 11. In court, Maltsev is assisted by Apology lawyer Dmitry Gerasimov.

A case of hooliganism (Article 213 of the Criminal Code) in connection with an anti-war performance - the burning of a scarecrow in camouflage with a bag on its head and the inscription “TAKE AWAY” - was opened on March 7, Maltsev’s house was searched. Presumably in connection with the same case, the police conducted a search at the home of St. Petersburg activist Sofia Semenova. The girl became a suspect in a criminal case of hooliganism based on political and ideological hostility (clause b, part 1, article 213 of the Criminal Code), and she was detained for two days. Semenova is defended by Apology lawyer Vera Ivanova.
