A picketer holding a poster “Freedom for political prisoners!” was detained on Red Square. He's already been released

In Moscow, on Red Square, picketer Alexander Savin was detained and has already been released. This was announced by a lawyer from OVD-Info, Ilya Utkin, who helped the man in the police department.

Savin took to the picket with a poster "Freedom to political prisoners!". A protocol was drawn up against him under the article on violation of the rules for participation in the action (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

• On Red Square, protesters on various topics are regularly detained: eco-activists who wanted to record a video message, picketers with posters about Putin , against constitutional reform , repression , torture and QR codes , in support of political prisoners . The police also considered the performance of a magician , performances of actionists and simply picketers with a smiley face , a blank sheet of paper or a declaration of love as an uncoordinated action . In addition, journalists were detained on Red Square on more than one occasion while carrying out editorial assignments. According to the federal law on rallies, the procedure for holding public events on Red Square is determined personally by the President of the Russian Federation.
• Most often, participants in actions on Red Square are charged with an article on violation of the rules for holding a rally (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). In June 2021, actionist Pavel Krisevich was charged with hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code) after his performance on Red Square in support of political prisoners.
