
In Kazakhstan, during the January mass protests and riots, 230 inhabitants were killed. About this with reference to the Prosecutor General of the Republic, Berik Asylov, was informed by Interfax.
Earlier it was reported about 227 dead. According to Asylov, among the victims of 19 military personnel and law enforcement officers. Most people died in Almaty - 139 people.
According to the official, when reflecting attacks on administrative buildings and in the course of restoring order 86 "attackers" were killed. The circumstances of the death of 53 dead are clarified. They were found in the city with various wounds, including: 48 - with firearms, two with knife, three with other injuries and burns.
Asylov also said that in other seven regions 63 "attackers" were killed "by" law enforcement forces "during the defense of the buildings of the akimats (city administration), police, departments of the national security committee.
Now it is known about the death of 20 residents who accidentally fell under fire, of them: 11 - in Almaty, eight - Almaty region and one in Taraz. Among them are those who fell under cross -fire, and there are dead "at the hands of the pogromers, as well as those who did not obey the requirements of the military at the checkpoints."
On the fact of unrest in the country, more than 3.7 thousand criminal cases have been instituted, including 46 - on acts of terrorism, hundreds of cases of torture are also being investigated.
The total number of those arrested on business is 766. "In the majority, these are young people under the age of 30, unemployed, without higher education," said Asylov. More than 22 thousand inhabitants checked the involvement in committed crimes.
In addition, the country is investigating seven criminal cases against the heads of police and the KNB departments who left the buildings of departments during the January events.
