
Activists of the Central District for a comfortable habitat have published an open letter to the government of St. Petersburg. They urge to develop infrastructure and rules for the safe use of electric scooters.
According to activists, kiksherynges interfere with the comfortable movement of citizens along the streets, provoke conflicts and incidents. The authors of the letter demand until March 25 to hold an open meeting of the city government with the Transport Committee, the profile vice-governor, representatives of business and the public, as well as administrations of the central regions of St. Petersburg and the traffic police.
Activists argue that if the meeting does not take place, they will publish a manifesto , the points of which are still being discussed, and the call is “to zero tolerance and counteracting electric self -scatters”.
At the same time, in St. Petersburg, the rules for using electric scooters were already developed: in particular, a complete ban on movement on Nevsky, Palace, small sea and other streets was introduced. In addition, it is forbidden to ride on a scooter intoxicated form, minors, as well as two or more persons. The new season of Kikshering in St. Petersburg opened on March 12, 2022.
An accident with the participation of rented electric scooters became one of the central topics of the last summer in St. Petersburg. Criminal cases were initiated in the city, and in Smolny a working group was created, which began to introduce restrictions for kikshering companies.
