In Irkutsk, the Kirovsky District Court refused to satisfy the claim of historian and local historian Alexei Petrov to overturn the decision of the Ministry of Justice to include him in the register of media outlets - “foreign agents.” This was reported by Sibir.Realii.

“Now I’m a Tajik agent! Moreover, no evidence was ever provided. Rosfinmonitoring writes on plain paper (there is no signature or executor) that an individual from Tajikistan transferred 15 thousand rubles to Petrov. My lawyer and I ask you to give us a certificate from the bank that such a transfer took place. They didn’t provide a certificate,” Petrov said.

The historian also noted that the migration department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk region refused to provide a document stating that the people who transferred 15 thousand rubles to him do not have Russian citizenship. Within a month, Petrov intends to appeal the decision of the district court to the regional court.

The Ministry of Justice included Alexey Petrov in the register of media “foreign agents” in September 2021. In November, the Irkutsk Union of Bibliophiles Fund for the Development of Book Culture, established by Petrov, alsogot there.
