78 aircraft of Russian airlines arrested abroad

Already 78 aircraft in Russia were arrested, said the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vitaly Savelyev. The remaining aircraft that should be returned to their owners after the sanctions imposed, according to Savelyev, will be used within the country.

Currently, in passenger and freight aviation, 777 out of 980 aircraft that Russia has in leasing. Of these, 515 aircraft, that is, more than half, are rented from foreign companies.

The sanctions imposed against Russia suggest a return of aircraft in the leasing and a ban on the supply of components.

Aircraft has a special control regime. There are pre -flight examinations, post -flight examinations, as well as service inspections, which are carried out after a certain number of flights. Civil aircraft several times a year undergo a service and technical inspection, when certain parts are replaced. Russia now has no access to these details, they are extended by the embargo.

According to Savelyev, this problem is called upon to cope with a bill involving a deferment of certification of technical means of transport safety.
