Anatoly Chubais resigned from the post of special presidential representative for sustainable development and left the country, Bloomberg writes , citing two sources. TASS source also confirms information about Chubais leaving office.
According to Bloomberg sources, Chubais “cited his disagreement” with the “military operation” in Ukraine. As the publication notes, he became the highest-ranking official to resign after the outbreak of hostilities.
Chubais's representative did not comment on this information to The Bell. Forbes managed to reach Chubais by phone, but when asked whether he really left Russia, he did not answer and hung up. “I can’t say, I don’t know,” his brother Igor Chubais said in a conversation with RBC.
Representatives of Chubais confirmed that he is leaving the post of special presidential representative for sustainable development. Kommersant reports that Chubais was seen in Istanbul yesterday.
