A court in Simferopol extended the period of detention for a defendant in the Crimean Hizb ut-Tahrir case.

On March 25, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol extended the detention of Crimean Tatar Marlen Mustafayev until June 7.

in the houses of four Crimean Tatars in different regions of Crimea, including in the Belogorsky district near Marlen Mustafayev On February 9, searches were carried out . All four were detained and arrested. The FSB announced that it had liquidated a cell of the Hizb ut-Tahrir terrorist organization in Crimea.

On February 21 , it became known that Mustafayev was placed in a psychiatric hospital for 28 days to undergo a forensic psychiatric examination.

• Hizb ut-Tahrir is recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. Terrorism cases have been opened in different regions of the country, while members of the cells of the organization are accused and sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the basis that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new members.
