A translator who requested anonymity told The Intercept that the ban on calling the war a war affected all Google products translated into Russian, including Google Maps , Gmail , AdWords , as well as Google policies and communications with users.

The Intercept Ads Policy Center found differences in the English and Russian versions of the Google , Display & Video 360, and Google AdSense pages. In some cases, the word “war” can still be found in Russian-language versions of pages. Presumably, this is due to automatic translation, notes The Intercept .
