Director Kirill Serebrennikov left Russia for France. This was announced by film expert and film selector for the Cannes Film Festival Joël Chapron.

On March 29, he posted on Facebook a photo of Serebrennikov taken at Place de la Bastille in Paris.

“His T-shirt says, 'I'm turning off the TV.' And in my head: “I include culture.” Films are being prepared, filming and editing are underway, and master classes are being planned. Thank you, Kirill, for always being so active!” - Chapron commented.

On March 28, it became known that the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow revoked the suspended sentence of Kirill Serebrennikov, who had previously been found guilty of particularly large-scale fraud in the Seventh Studio case.

Over the past month, many artists who disagree with the Russian invasion of Ukraine have left Russia.
