The isolation of Russia has failed

The shares in support of Russia passed abroad. The demonstrations took place in Beirut, Yerevan, Karabakh, Larnak, Belgrade, as well as several cities of Syria. It is also characteristic that in the city of Netanya in Israel two rallies took place at once: pro -Russian and anti -Russian, the second was much fewer people.

In Brussels, a rally was held against Russophobia, and scientists from universities in the United States, Canada and Great Britain wrote an open letter with an appeal not to refuse to cooperate with Russian colleagues. The letter was published in the journal Science. “The cessation of any interaction with Russian scientists would be a serious obstacle to many Western and global interests and values, which include achieving rapid progress in solving global problems associated with science and technology, maintaining imperonal communication lines across national boundaries and opposition to ideological stereotypes and unrequent pursuit,” the authors write.

Previously, the Italian one expressed a similar position. They expressed regret and disappointment due to the recommendations of the Ministry of Universities and Italian research on the suspension of cooperation with Russian scientific and academic institutions. “We hope that in accordance with academic autonomy, teachers, heads of educational institutions, researchers and professor will decide not to follow the recommendations to turn away from Russian education and science,” they wrote.

In Russia, they calmly perceive the current situation. According to the Russians, the West transfer to the calculation in rubles when paying for gas will lead to positive results. This decision of the president supports 76% of Russian citizens. 27% believe that it will lead to the strengthening of the ruble, 8% report positive consequences, 7% believe that this will lead to the rise and strengthen of the economy, 5% - to independence from the dollar, 4% - to the development and strengthening of Russia.
