Clients filed a collective lawsuit for the Yandex.Sa service

Yandex.Deas customers filed a collective lawsuit for the company after leakage of user data. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to the lawsuit, which was filed in the Zamoskvoretsky court.

33 customers of the service participate in the lawsuit, about 300 people filed applications for joining a lawsuit through the Destra Legal legal service website, which represents the interests of the applicants.

Clients accuse Yandex.aded of violating the Law on Personal Data, they require moral compensation for 100 thousand rubles per each. The plaintiffs note that after a leakage of personal data on the Internet, calls from unknown with advertising offers began to come to customers.

“Including applicants are afraid for their safety. After all, not only their phone numbers and mail became known, but also the actual addresses, codes from intercoms and so on,” said Destra Legal representative Boris Feldman.

• On March 1, the service itself announced the leak of several million data on March 1. The cause of the leak was named the unscrupulous actions of one of the employees. The company claimed that banking, payment and registration data of users were not compromised.
• On March 23, names, telephones, physical and email addresses, as well as the amounts of orders of users of the Yandex.meda application, were open in the public domain. The information from the hacked base was applied to the card, the link to which was actively distributed in the Telegram messenger. Its creators proposed to delete personal data from this database for reward. Roskomnadzor later said that the link to the database was blocked . RKN drew up an administrative protocol for violation of Russian legislation, according to which the company faces a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles.
