The series “New Black Illustrations” is a set of grotesque alarming black and white images close in the image to book printed graphics (in the technique of xylography, linography or similar) with the display of circuits and spots through a set of points. The name can be decrypted as follows: these images are found (where?) And are in a new, black bag (in which alcohol are usually worn), and the black and new ones themselves. Each illustration has its own history and a topic, which, however, can be supplemented by another picture from the series. So, the unity of the work of the series is expressed in the unity of their poetics, which can also be understood as the unity of space. The viewer can say to himself: "Yes, all this happens in the same world." Yes, Lesbian Diana is adjacent to the anti-sexual plot of no Sex Club , the apolitical flags of the metro are curly over her head, and she dreams of war and shells falling into the thickets of hogweed. We can say so: "It all happens to me." Therefore, the image from the “11 Me” series depicts my self -portrait in the grotesque image that the viewer tells that the depicted is also me. This is I am a lesbian Diana, I am a man from a poster, I stand under the cutting flags, and I look at myself from the side, or try to look. Such is the lyrical comprehension of the series, like any poetic world, this is a story told from himself and for himself (Rolan Bart - “About Roland Bart”, “I am Valery Bryusov”). The series “New Package of Black Illustrations” could be poems, but also visual poetry of not abstract, concrete experience. Let's take a look at this specific experience in his detailed description:
The first picture is a picture from the NO series Sex Club . It is a picture of the noir atmosphere of another, not our world. The world in which neon signs in the slums, where the hero entered (some mysterious gentleman in the hat), usually attracting attention with their depravity, speak the opposite. Do not signs of pleasure, signs of abstinence. The illustration on the background is two chairs, one more elegant “female” chair sits on a more square “male chair”, sensual female silhouettes are painted behind them. In the world of temptations, our hero refuses precisely this.
