Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the spring appeal. The document is published on the portal of legal information.
The draft campaign will begin on April 1 and end on July 15. 134 thousand 500 conscripts will be called to the Armed Forces, this is 7 thousand more than in the fall of 2021.
As the head of the Agora, Pavel Chikov, clarifies, the first sending to military units will begin in the third decade of May.
On March 22, the State Duma deputies postponed the consideration of the bill, which obliges the conscripts to appear at the military registration and enlistment office without a personal presentation of the agenda. The third reading of amendments to the law "On military duty and military service" was supposed to be held on March 16, but it was postponed to April without specifying a specific date.
According to the current rules, the summons should be handed to the conscript personally and on receipt. If a person did not receive it, he is not obliged to come to the military registration and enlistment office on his own. Amendments, however, implies that the agenda can be handed over by registered letter with a notification at the address indicated in the documents of military registration or at the place of work and study. It will be considered received on the day of delivery of the letter. The conscript must come to the military registration and enlistment office.
In the first reading, the bill was considered back in 2018, the second took place four years later, on February 22, the day after Russia recognized the independence of the DPR and LPR and two days before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
