The St. Petersburg Pediatric University expelled students detained on the street during shares against the so -called "special operation" of Russia in Ukraine. Officially - for the "violation of the internal routine", but the basis for exceptions was a notice from the police with a list of students and a request to carry out "work" with them.
The 6th year student of the St. Petersburg Pediatric University Timur Garipov was expelled from the university after he was detained on the street on the street, where the next anti-war action was held against the so-called "special operation" of Russia in Ukraine. According to Garipov, he did not participate in the action itself, but "walked past."
- The protocol says that I "took a voluntary part in the simultaneous mass stay of citizens in a public place organized against the war with Ukraine." On Moika, 89, riot police hooked us. They detained many with the help of electric shockers. But I was personally detained in Vegetarian and then held the night in the police department. The next morning immediately to the court, right at 7 in the morning, they gave me seven days. Late in the evening, they took it in a steel cold cube, they drove for three hours in minus 19, ”the former student recalls. - They took me to a special -reception to the Lodeye Field, because there were no more places in the city. When they drove up to the Lodeye field, I no longer felt my fingers. We were kept in the smoking room while registered.
Leaving seven days later from a special receptionist, Garipov returned to the university to continue his studies. A day later, he was asked to go to the rector for conversation.
- Together with me there were two more girls. We took turns going to the rector, where the administration was sitting 15, without a rector. There I had to report and explain. They asked me if I know why I came, how I was studying. They asked why the court arrested, not a fine. They suggested that I could somehow resist the police. But this was not. They told me that you need to be bolder - if you have already gone to the action, then admit. I was offended that I stood and reported incomprehensibly to whom. They already brought an ax over me in advance, they already had a ready -made decision, ”says Garipov.
Timur Garipov tried to stay at the university. “He went to the vice -rector, tried to peacefully resolve the issue, even repented to them and once again listened to all the nonsense,” he recalls, but did not help. Now he wants to recover in an educational institution through the court.

How many students were expelled due to detentions during rallies is unknown. At the disposal of North. Reali, there is an appeal of the deputy chief of the police Dmitry Baranov to the rector of the Pediatric University Dmitry Ivanov. A list of university students who were held accountable "for participating in mass inconsistent protests against a special military operation" are attached to the letter. Baranov asks the university to work with students, and to inform the center "E" about its results.
Sanctions by the University administration also affected university employees who signed a petition against the so -called "special operation" of Russia in Ukraine. "... The personal cases of employees who signed letters aimed at the radicalization of the company and extremist manifestations are considered. A number of those who share such views expressed a desire not to continue working in Russian state institutions," the news on the university’s website says . This text is published under the heading of the responsibility time and contains a reminder “that participation in disagreed, illegal measures of an anti -state nature, as well as the distribution of information that defeated the state, the interests of society and citizens in the public space, will continue to be suppressed in accordance with the law, with the prosecution and criminal liability.”
The petition against the so -called "special operation of Russia" in Ukraine was signed by thousands of health workers all over Russia, including Timur Garipov and another student Evgeny Kuzin (the name changed at the request of the hero), who works at the clinic at the university. Kuzin went to protest promotions and signed a petition, published a post on his Instagram with an appeal so that other doctors also sign a document. As a result, the future doctor was called to the rector.
- I was told that they call me about my posts on social networks and signatures of open letters of medical workers against the war, because I published a call to sign it. When I arrived, it turned out that they had "taken pity on me and decided not to bring my business to the rector. The senior nurse in my branch stood up for me, but in such an understanding that I did it by chance and deleted the posts at all (although I did not remove them). As a result, Nadmed decided to talk to me. I was told that I was in the "black list" that was in the personnel department, and that I am not one of my department there.
The cousin was made a warning and promised to dismiss and expel it from the university if "next time I find myself close to rallies or I’ll publish something."

The appeal of the University administration talks about the expulsion of two more students who were detained during the shares. One of the expelled is the 5th year student of the Pediatric University Anna Afanasyeva. She was detained on March 2 in the square near the Gostiny Dvor, where rallies and actions against the war in Ukraine have been held from February 24.
- I was not going to protest, I left the metro at the Gostiny Dvor to go on personal matters. Just appeared at the exit from the metro, they took me. I didn’t even understand what happened at first. Everything was already quiet and calm there, they no longer shouted in the matyugalnik, plus I was in the headphones. They took me by the arms and led two riot police. They did not answer my questions. I did not resist, I know that it could end badly.
Anna was first taken to one police department, and then to the other. It drew up a protocol under the administrative article 20.2.2 - "Organization of mass movement of citizens in public places that entailed a violation of public order." The next day, the court did not consider her case - at first inaccuracies were found in the protocol, they were supposed to be corrected in the police, and when this happened, the court said that the working day was completed. So Afanasyeva spent another day in the police. As a result, the court fined it on March 4 for 10 thousand rubles.
- I did not hope for a fine, because almost everyone who was detained with me was arrested. But the judge gave me a fine and said that this is the first time, walk in the world.
The student appealed the court’s decision, but at the Pediatric University to wait for the result of appeal (until that moment the decision is considered not entering into force) did not and expelled Anna with the wording "for violation of the charter and internal routine of the university."
- At first there was silence for a long time, I even calmed down, I thought that the police would not report to the university at all. But in the end they received an official notification. On March 16, I was in the classroom, and the secretary of the deputy deikan called me. They told me that they were waiting for me on the vice. There was horror. People with regalia and doctors of science spoke some oddities. It all ended in the fact that they told me that the rector would recommend the expulsion of me with the right to restore. I want to note that I was expelled before the decision of the court of appeal. They want to impose that I was brought to administrative responsibility, although at the time of expulsion the meeting has not even taken place.
The order on the deduction was signed by the acting rector on March 16.
- The lawyer and I wrote two letters, now I am recorded to meet with the rector. We want to solve the issue by the world, because if there are courts, the restoration commission, I will lose at least a year. I don't want that. I hope that the rector will enter the position. They say that the king is good, and the boyars are bad.

Anna’s lawyer Andrei Chertkov considers the order to deduct unlawful.
- The student’s expulsion for the fact that he was brought to administrative responsibility, means re -attracting a citizen for the actions for which he was already punished. You can’t punish twice for the same thing. In general, a university can only attract for violation of the internal rules of the university itself, on its territory, as well as outside the territory, but within the framework of the events held by the university, ”Chertkov explains.
The pediatric university itself emphasizes that they have the right to expel students for violation of the charter, as well as medical or student ethics.
“We have a specific university,” says Valentin Sidorin, adviser to the rector of the St. Petersburg Medical Pediatric University. - The university and the clinic in which a thousand children are treated are located in the same territory. Teaching issues are not separated from the issue of treatment. All students - about 6 thousand people who study with us, work in a clinic or visit it. The issue related to ethics and participation or non -participation in unauthorized events is important for our institution from this point of view. No one would like a rally or excitement to begin here at one point. We have a potentially dangerous object in the human sense of the word.
The university on its website requires employees and students not to participate in "inconsistent, illegal measures of anti -state nature." Judging by the publications on the site, the university itself openly supports the so -called "special operation" - in early March, a meeting called "fascism will not pass at the university: Pediatricians in support of the President of Russia."
Pediatric University is not the only one in Russia who expel their students or dismisses employees for a public statement of opinions, which is opposite to the official position of the authorities. At St. Petersburg State University, the deduction threatens 40 students who were detained during shares against the so -called "special operation". From the REU named after Plekhanov, two students were expelled because of the posts on Instagram about the "special operation".
