A criminal case was opened against a resident of the Chelyabinsk region due to posts about the shelling of Mariupol

A criminal case was opened against a resident of Kopeisk, Chelyabinsk region, Pyotr Borovinskikh, under the article on disseminating false information about the Russian armed forces (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). He himself told OVD-Info about this.

On March 25, security forces detained Borovinsky and searched his home. They refused to provide a lawyer during the search, and also took away a netbook and smartphone, Borovinskikh said.

He notes that he has still not been given documents to initiate the case. According to him, the investigator told him that the case was opened because of posts about the shelling of Mariupol in his public page on VKontakte “Kopeisk without Putin’s fascism.”
