DOXA editors were asked to undergo two years of correctional labor

The state prosecution asked DOXA editors Natalia Tyshkevich, Alla Gutnikova, Armen Aramyan and Vladimir Metelkin to be sentenced to two years of correctional labor. This was reported by lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov, who represents Gutnikova’s interests.

Each day of a preventive measure will be counted as one and a half days of correctional labor, writes DOXA. Those accused of involving minors through public speech in illegal activities that pose a danger to their lives (Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code) spent almost a year under a ban on certain actions.

Editors are also asked to prohibit administrating sites.

As Activatica reports , activists who came to the building of the Dorogomilovsky District Court were roughly dispersed.

• On the morning of April 14, 2021, four journalists from the student publication DOXA - Armen Aramyan, Alla Gutnikova, Vladimir Metelkin and Natasha Tyshkevich - were searched. After that, they were taken for interrogation to the Investigative Committee, and then to the court for a hearing to select a preventive measure: all four were given a ban on certain actions with strict restrictions. In fact, defendants can only leave the house for interrogations and two hours a day for walks. On September 10, the preventive measure was once again extended for a month.
• Initially, Leonid Volkov, the former head of Alexei Navalny’s headquarters network, was involved in the same case with DOXA journalists. According to investigators, after Volkov published the video “How can we get Navalny out of prison,” DOXA employees, against the backdrop of active discussions on social networks, had an intention “to support the above calls and create their own publications.” Later, the editors' case was separated into separate proceedings.
