Ex-DOXA editor Natasha Tyshkevich was detained in Moscow

In Moscow, ex-DOXA editor Natasha Tyshkevich was detained in the Dorogomilovsky court building, where a hearing on her criminal case was taking place. Information about this appeared in the DOXA telegram channel.

According to the publication, the journalist is being taken to the Tverskoy police station. The reason for her detention is not yet known.

On March 22, an administrative case was opened against Tyshkevich under the article on displaying Nazi paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). She was given a summons on March 22, along with permission to leave the house from 16:30 to 8:00 “to conduct procedural actions.”

19:50 Natasha Tyshkevich was left overnight at the police station. The trial is scheduled for tomorrow, April 2, writes DOXA.

“Ironically, I am being tried for demonstrating a Ukrainian trident, and the case was opened before the war,” Tyshkevich noted.

• On the morning of April 14, 2021, four journalists from the student publication DOXA - Armen Aramyan, Alla Gutnikova, Vladimir Metelkin and Natasha Tyshkevich - were searched. After that, they were taken for interrogation to the Investigative Committee, and then to the court for a hearing to select a preventive measure: all four were given a ban on certain actions with strict restrictions. In fact, defendants can only leave the house for interrogations and two hours a day for walks. On September 10, the preventive measure was once again extended for a month.
• A criminal case for involving minors in dangerous activities (Part 2 of Article 151.2 of the Criminal Code) was opened because of the DOXA video, in which the publication’s participants addressed students - they urged them not to be afraid of threats of expulsion for participating in rallies. Subsequently, the magazine's editors deleted this video at the request of Roskomnadzor. Under the same article, a case was opened against the former head of Alexei Navalny’s headquarters network, Leonid Volkov. According to investigators, after Volkov published the video “How can we get Navalny out of prison,” DOXA employees, against the backdrop of active discussions on social networks, had an intention “to support the above calls and create their own publications.” Initially, Volkov and the DOXA editors were involved in the same case, but later the editors’ case was separated into separate proceedings.
