… Значительную часть мая 2017 года Путин провел в своем любимом месте — Сочи. На следующий день после парада Победы он отправился в южную резиденцию «Бочаров ручей» и в тот же вечер, как всегда, блестяще играл в хоккей в сочинском ледовом дворце. Например, в один день с Симом в «Руси» проживали еще четыре доктора, в том числе лор Алексей Щеглов и инфекционист Ярослав Протасенко.
В тот период с президентом работает вполне стандартный набор дежурных специалистов, все они появляются в Сочи одновременно с главой государства. Например, большую часть мая 2017 года врачи сменяли друг друга, но 29 числа того же месяца все как по команде уехали — президент в этот день отбыл сначала в Париж, а оттуда в Петербург. 21 июля президент возвращается в Сочи встречаться с президентом Азербайджана Ильхамом Алиевым — и там его уже ждут все те же лор Щеглов и инфекционист Протасенко, а также штатный реаниматолог Илья Дыбунов, защитивший диссертацию по анестезиологии, и нейрохирург Елена Шевченко — почти все прибыли в Сочи за день до главы государства. На следующий день после переговоров президент, видимо, остается в Сочи на отдых, и к специалистам присоединяется врач скорой помощи Сергей Снежко.

Новость стала сюрпризом даже для окружения президента. Его пресс-секретарь вначале запутался и опроверг шефа — якобы президент, говоря об изоляции, выражался «образно». Тем не менее, на следующий день Путин на изоляцию все же ушел, в думских выборах принял участие из собственного кабинета и весь сентябрь не появлялся на публике. Делали ли президенту тогда какую-то медицинскую манипуляцию — неизвестно, но после этого он стал общаться с людьми на очень большом расстоянии — сидя по разные стороны огромных столов. Иными словами, если раньше Путин отдалялся от людей в переносном смысле слова, то теперь стал делать это самым непосредственным образом. «Это все совсем неправильная информация. Тут все не соответствует действительности», — сказал «Проекту» пресс-секретарь президента Дмитрий Песков.

Истинные взаимоотношения правителя и простых людей в России можно легко понять по следующему эпизоду. Эпидемию коронавируса Путин провел так, как не проводил, наверное, ни один глава государства в мире — большинство встреч президент России вел по видеосвязи, а немногочисленных посетителей допускал до себя только после двухнедельного карантина и сдачи кала. По всему было видно, что здоровье вождя — приоритет номер один.
Даже большую пресс-конференцию Путина в 2020 году решили провести в необычном формате. Путин, Песков и избранные журналисты должны были сидеть в одном небольшом помещении, а остальная людская масса — в большом зале, откуда репортеры и задавали вопросы при помощи видеотрансляции. Естественно, всех, кто должен был сидеть в одном помещении с Путиным, включая президентского пресс-секретаря, отправили на двухнедельный карантин, а по его окончании еще и заставили сдать тест на СOVID. Тест Пескова показал положительный результат , рассказывает собеседник, близкий к кремлевской администрации. Тесты на коронавирус могут давать и ложноположительный результат, и до президента его, конечно, не допустили. Но без проблем посадили в общий зал, где тогда было более 700 человек.
