The Bank of Russia softened for Russians restrictions on the transfer of currency abroad - now you can send up to 10 thousand dollars, earlier this amount was twice as lower. This is stated in a press release of the regulator.
10 thousand dollars can be transferred from your account in a Russian bank to your own account or account of another person abroad. You can translate the equivalent of this amount in another currency. Through companies providing money transfer services without opening an account, you can transfer no more than 5 thousand dollars per month.
These norms concern the residents of Russia and non -residents - from countries that do not support sanctions.
On February 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which residents could not credit foreign currency to their accounts and deposits in foreign banks. This concerned not only the transfers to your account, but also the withdrawal of money without opening an account, if foreign service providers are used for this. From March 2, it is forbidden to export more than 10 thousand dollars from Russia. Previously, this was possible provided that the amount is declared at customs.
