The Russian embassies in Latvia , Slovenia and Oman reposted the publication of the Czech Foreign Ministry on Facebook calling on Russian diplomats to leave “this sinking ship.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry also reposted the post of their Czech colleagues and wrote : “Czech diplomats, you and I really have something in common. Only you forgot about this long ago, betrayed and sold the pages of our common history. And we remember. We do not betray the memory of those who gave their lives for the sake of our future.”
In an appeal to Russian diplomats, the department noted that employees of the Czech Foreign Ministry and their colleagues have “something important in common”; they serve “their governments and their people.” According to the publication, one cannot count on a “significant” improvement in the situation in Russia - “increasing authoritarianism, a broken and collapsing economy, a corrupt elderly elite slowly turning into a gerontocracy - will ultimately lead Russia to a sharp fall into the darkness of the past.”
“Colleagues, we beg those of you who have a conscience and who are able to recognize evil: get out of this circle of accomplices of evil. We call on you, those who have morals and a good heart, to please leave this sinking ship, which only incurs the wrath of freedom-loving people around the world,” the message ends.
🇨🇿 Appeal to Russian colleagues, diplomats, men and women of the Russian diplomatic service. Colleagues, we implore...
