US President Joe Biden has called for the trial of Russian President Vladimir Putin as a war criminal, reports the Associated Press.
“You saw what happened in Bucha,” Biden said, again calling Putin a “war criminal.” He had previously said this about the Russian president in mid-March. The Kremlin then called "unacceptable and unforgivable such rhetoric of the head of state, whose bombs killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world."
The US President also told reporters that he would seek additional sanctions against Russia after reports of what happened in the territories of Ukraine, which were under the control of the Russian military.
“We must continue to supply Ukraine with the weapons it needs to fight. And we must collect all the details (of what happened in the Kyiv region) for a real war crimes trial, ”Biden added.
At the same time, the American leader refused to call the incident a genocide, the Associated Press notes.
