Nine employees of the Yaroslavl colony were condemned in the case of torture

The court in Yaroslavl sentenced nine former FSIN employees to the real terms in the case of torture of the concluded Yaroslavl correctional colony No. 1 of Abubakar Tsagalaev. This was reported by the Public Verdict Foundation.

Vladimir Balanov, Alexei Vikharev, Igor Kamironov, Ivan Kokovin, Alexander Semenov, Igor Bogdanov, Alexei Brovkin, Ruslan Tsvetkov and Maxim Yablokov found guilty of abuse of authority. They were appointed deadlines from three years to three years and four months of a general regime colony. Earlier, Bogdanov, Brovkin, Tsvetkov and Yablokov were convicted in the case of torture of the prisoner of the Yaroslavl colony No. 1 Evgeny Makarov.

• In July 2018, the New Gazeta and the Public Verdict Foundation published a video torture of one of the prisoners of the Yaroslavl colony - Yevgeny Makarov. In February 2020, certificates of new torture appeared - two videos on which the FSIN staff beat other prisoners with a large group. One of them, a Georgian citizen Vazha Bochorishvili, who has been in a colony since May 2016, died in the hospital after torture.
• In May 2020, the court in Yaroslavl justified the head of colony No. 1 of Dmitry Nikolaev and his deputy in the case of the torture of Yevgeny Makarov. Other colony officers who fell on the video were convicted of terms of three to four years.
