Borodyanka. Western media were allowed into the city of Borodyanka near Kiev, which was captured by Russian troops. Journalists photographed destroyed buildings in residential areas. According to Mayor Georgiy Yerko, about 200 residents are missing, many of them may remain under the rubble of buildings. Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova said that there may be more dead in Borodyanka than in Bucha. Bucha. The mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedorchuk, said in a conversation with the BBC that the Russian military killed about 320 civilians in the city. Russia version. The Russian Ministry of Defense denies all accusations of killing civilians in Bucha and other suburbs of Kyiv. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on April 6 that “there is enough evidence of the Russian Federation’s innocence in the crime in Bucha.”

The Ministry of Defense is talking about new “provocations”. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Ukrainian side has completed preparations for “provocations” involving civilians in the cities of Sumy and Kiev regions - Konotop, Trostyanets, Borodyanka and Katyuzhanka. The Russian Ministry of Defense also called all information about the involvement of the Russian army in the massacres in Bucha a provocation.

Mariupol. The UK Ministry of Defense, citing its intelligence data, reports that heavy fighting and airstrikes from Russia continue in Mariupol. More than 160 thousand people remain in the city without electricity, heating and water, communications do not work and there is no access to medical care. According to British data, Russian troops are preventing humanitarian aid from entering the city. The Russian side denies shelling residential areas and claims that it is fulfilling its obligations on humanitarian corridors, and the population is allegedly not allowed into them by “nationalists.”

Ugledar. In Ugledar, a humanitarian aid distribution point was shelled, said the head of the Donetsk region, Pavel Kirilenko. According to him, two civilians were killed and five more were injured. The Russian Ministry of Defense, as in other cases, denies attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Russia: losses, shooting on the border, prisoners of war, US sanctions

Officers. The BBC Russian Service analyzed the available data on 1,083 dead Russian military personnel. The publication found that among the military personnel whose deaths were confirmed by the regional authorities of the Russian Federation, there are 10 colonels, 20 lieutenant colonels, 31 majors and 155 junior officers. As the publication writes, this is 20% of all military personnel whose deaths are officially confirmed. The large percentage of officers among the dead may be due to the fact that the bodies of commanders can be delivered home as a priority, writes the BBC Russian Service. The publication also found out that about 15% of the identified dead served in the Airborne Forces, and most often the authorities of Dagestan and Buryatia reported the death of their military personnel.

Prisoners of war. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Kiev had disrupted another exchange of prisoners of war, and expressed concerns that “not everything may be all right” with Russian prisoners of war.
