In the Primorsky Territory, the court arrested for a month the former candidate for Governors from the Communist Party Andrei Ishchenko. This was reported by the press service of the regional investigative committee. He is suspected of fraud.

According to the investigation, Ishchenko as the founder of the Aurora-Stroy construction company from December 2016 to June 2021 stole more than 105 million rubles for 187 participants in the shared construction of an apartment building in Vladivostok.

Ishchenko was detained on April 4. He was charged under the article “Fraud, that is, the theft of someone else's property by deception, committed on an especially large scale or entailed the deprivation of a citizen’s right to a dwelling”.

In 2018, Andrei Ishchenko ran for the post of governor of the Primorsky Territory from the Communist Party. He lost to the candidate from United Russia, the current governor Andrei Tarasenko is one and a half percent of the vote, despite the fact that he was the leader after the counting of 97 percent of the protocols.
After summing up the elections, candidates accused each other for violations. The election of the Primorsky Territory annulled the election results. Ishchenko was not allowed to re -election, another candidate from United Russia Oleg Kozhemyako won them.

In May 2021, Ishchenko said on his Instagram that the current head of the region, Oleg Kozhemyako, allegedly offered him two million dollars for non -participation in the elections of the governor of the region.
