
The European Council on April 8 approved the previously agreed on the next package of sanctions against Russia.
Since August, a ban on the import of coal and a number of other goods from Russia/ Russian courts will also be forbidden to enter the entrance to the ports of the European Union, transactions with four Russian banks, including VTB, are completely prohibited.
The EU also added to the sanctions list 217 of individuals and 18 legal entities of Russia and Belarus. Officially, the list has not yet been published. According to the representative of the European Commission, Russian assets worth about 30 billion euros have already been frozen in the EU.
The UK expanded the sanctions list against Russia, adding to it the daughters of Russian President Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, as well as the daughter of the Russian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Vinokurova, writes Reuters.
