
From April 7, Sberbank stopped all the transfers abroad in foreign currency. The ban applies to transfers in the Bank branches and in the Sberbank Online mobile application, RBC reports with reference to a representative of a credit institution.
According to an employee of the bank, such a decision was made due to sanctions restrictions on foreign exchange operations with correspondent accounts in foreign banks.
“Translations issued from April 6 will be returned to the client’s account in full, together with the commission. Translations abroad in bank branches in rubles are available for residents as usual without restrictions, ”he said.
Russians can now transfer rubles to the phone number through the mobile application to the countries of the near abroad: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, as well as in Transnistria.
Earlier, bank customers could send transfers in euros, yen, Swiss francs, Norwegian crowns and Singapore dollars.
