Ukraine has introduced a full trade embargo against Russia

The government of Ukraine has approved a complete trade embargo against Russia. This was announced by the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.

“A trade embargo against the Russian Federation has been introduced. It is forbidden to import goods from the Russian Federation into the customs territory of Ukraine,” Melnychuk wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to the estimates of the Ukrainian authorities, the complete cessation of trade relations between the countries will cost Russia at least six billion dollars a year.

• According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, last year the turnover of trade between Ukraine and Russia increased by 23% to $12.3 billion.
• Since 2015, there has been a ban on the import of certain goods from Russia in Ukraine, notes Ukrayinska Pravda . These include meat, fish, some dairy products, coffee, tea, sweets, alcohol and cigarettes, medicines, fertilizers, manufactured goods, vehicles, and paper products.
