A Dagestani human rights activist who left Russia spoke about the visit of security forces to her 93-year-old mother

In Makhachkala, police came to the home of the 93-year-old mother of human rights activist Svetlana Anokhina, allegedly because of her anti-war publications on Instagram. The human rights activist herself left Russia last year.

“Now they came to my mother’s house, showed me a piece of paper, a printout with my “wrong” post on Instagram. I don't understand a few things. Why didn't you like only one post? What did you want to hear from my 93-year-old mother, poor things? You'll have to conduct another search! The most you will find is a vibrator. On which I spun you all,” Anokhina on Instagram.

The human rights activist wrote in a conversation with Kavkaz.Realii that the police know about her emigration, and the visit to her mother is an instrument of intimidation and revenge for human rights work. “The goal is this: to show that no one will rock the boat, so that they know that they will get even through their relatives, through their old parents, through their children,” says Anokhina.
